Background
Over the last few years, many studies have examined inadequate intakes of fruits and vegetables in American individuals with concerning statistics such as 76% and 87% of participants not meeting daily recommended fruits and vegetable intakes respectively. Although supplementing our current food intake with more nutritious fruits and vegetables is a great way to ensure good health, multivitamins and minerals are another solution to low intakes of healthy nutritious foods. Keeping this in mind, many multivitamins provide an insufficient amount of vitamins and minerals that could undermine people’s goals to address their deficiencies. Therefore, it is essential to choose the right multivitamin that can help support each individual’s health needs.
What Phytomulti offers
This multivitamin product is unique with its combination of more than 20 essential minerals and vitamins and a proprietary blend of natural compounds found in fruits and vegetables called phytonutrients. This collection of vitamins, minerals, and phytonutrients to help support DNA stability, provide antioxidant support and overall improvement of cellular health. It is extremely important to remember that a healthy, diverse diet should also be considered in addition to multivitamin supplementation to ensure optimal health in individuals.
Why Phytomulti
What truly sets this multivitamin apart from its counterparts is the presence of standardized fruits and vegetables extracts containing phytonutrients that have shown to provide important health benefits. Some of the these benefits as cited in research include: anti-inflammatory properties which can help reduce risk of chronic diseases such as heart disease, diabetes, and cancer; antioxidant properties meaning they can neutralize harmful free radicals in the body and protect against oxidative stress; cardiovascular health benefits where some phytonutrients can help lower blood pressure, reduce inflammation, and improve cholesterol levels which all contribute to improved heart health.
During a 4 week study, 15 participants were given 2 phytomulti tablets daily and data collection was performed before the start of the study and after the 4 weeks mark. The results indicated a significant increase in B-vitamins such as B12 and Folate (B9), and carotenoids ( antioxidant compounds that have many health benefits specially for eye health ). Second biomarker that researchers looked at was antioxidant levels and their effect on DNA stability, both of which improved following the 4 week supplementation with Phytomulti. Lastly, the biomarkers corresponding to oxidative stress and heart health also showed improvement compared to baseline levels.
